Not the HG Wells book - the novelization of the pilot of the 1975 US TeeVee show based on the famous book. We painfully discover the main charactes does everything "dryly." We also discover the author loves to construct sentences with awful structure, creating a mishmash of subject object, verb, and everything else.
Also a brief foray into the ills of not figuring out your daily timeline. Who knew that'd be important? Unless, like the author, you think "evening" is the period from midnight to sunrise. And like the author you think sunrise is about 8am.
